Pentax-DA L 55-300mm F4-5.8 - mini review
Not an expert review but one from a regular user of this lens. All of these photos are cropped and resized, otherwise they are sooc (straight out of camera.) All were taken hand held. In my opinion the SMC Pentax-DA L 55-300mm F4-5.8 ED is an underrated lens. Sure there are times when it can be noisy as it hunts for focus but with a bit of practice this can be overcome by making sure that you have already adjusted the focal range that you are shooting at. Details, sharpness and colours are all spot on in my opinion.

Mabel, a Tawny Owl, is a well known inhabitant of Ipswich, so well known that a book has been written about her She makes her home in Christchurch Park and seems to take being photographed in her stride.

Snow Games With Birds
Still cold in these parts, so we spent 2 or 3 hours wandering around Ickworth Grounds. We must be mad but we did make a brief foray inside for coffee and cake.

2013 birding challenge
